This page explains how to delete your Cuatro account and everything we hold about you. Cuatro is a padel matchmaking service operated in Ontario, Canada, and this applies to the Cuatro mobile app on iOS and Android.
It is published here, outside the app, because you should be able to find out how to leave without having to install anything first.
Deletion is built in, it takes about thirty seconds, and you do not have to ask us or wait for us:
That is the whole process. It happens immediately and it is permanent — there is no recovery, no grace period, and no soft delete that quietly keeps your email address on file.
Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account. Uninstalling stops the app running; it tells our systems nothing, and your profile stays visible to other players. Use the button above, or write to us.
Write to privacy@cuatro.ca from the email address you sign in with, and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm when it is done.
We answer requests within 30 days, as the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act requires, and normally much sooner.
We can only act on a request we can tie to an account, which is what writing from the address on the account establishes. If you have lost access to that address, say so and we will work out what else can identify you — but we will not delete an account on the word of someone we cannot connect to it, because that is a way to delete somebody else's.
Destroyed: your login and email address, your profile, your photo, your postal code and availability, your preferences, your community relationships, your push tokens, your notifications, and the content of every chat message you sent.
Kept, with you removed from it: the games you played in, and the ratings you gave and received. These are kept indefinitely, with nothing left in them that identifies you.
We want to explain that rather than bury it. A padel game involved three other people. Erasing the game itself would delete their record of an evening they had no say in removing, and it would strand their replies in a conversation against a gap. So the game survives with your identity scrubbed out of it, and your messages leave behind a marker reading "message not available" — which keeps the shape of the conversation honest without keeping a word of what you wrote. Ratings persist without any link to you, because they are part of other players' skill history.
The legal position we are taking is that the law requires the erasure of your personal information, not the destruction of other people's records of a shared event.
Separately, our hosting provider keeps its own operational logs — records of requests reaching the service — under its retention policy rather than ours. Those are not records we can search by person, and they age out on the provider's schedule.
